Looking for a simple emulator box.
Does the PS2 do SNES well enough for the most popular (first party) stuff?
Does it display SNES in 240p?

I only use my PS 2 to play PS1 and PS2 games. If you want an emulator box that plays those games though you might consider a PC.

If you want games to be 30 fps at best or unplayable at worst, then yes.
The most popular emulator, snesstation, latest official update was in 2005. So you should expect some games not running (SMrpg) and ocasional crashes.

snes on ps2 is hit or miss, but i was playing RPG's fine

nes is decent

megadrive\genesis is okay

POPstarter is really good or really bad, some games dont even boot and others have artifacts and fucked up graphics

ps2 outputs 240p and looks great if you have RGB scart cables and a trinni
