Can we have a custom label thread?
I know this is niche but I like making custom labels for fun/maybe for repro carts of games that didn't come out, at least not in the US. This is mostly because other custom labels are a bit lousy and inaccurate which can flare my autism.
Starting off with 3 I made just recently

I wonder what an M SNES game would look like.

Awesome.
You have accidentally made a label for Famicom Detective Club Part II?

I'd just have the art work if I was making custom shit. SNES labels/box art were ugly as fuck.

Phrasing's a bit odd there, but hey, I could probably pull that off

Actually scratch that. I can't find a clean rip of the English logo for FDC and there's no good artwork I can grab for the background. I'm not really good at making custom logos so that's a snag

OP if you didn't make these at 300 DPI, if you ever come to print them they will be low quality

How do I ensure they're rendered at 300dpi?
I think the template I used was also at 72dpi so I may have fucked myself

are you using photoshop or gimp?

in photoshop when you create a new file you'll have the option to choose the dpi, im not sure about gimp, i havent used it in around 5 years, but I assume its the same

where the resolution says 72 there, you want that set to 300

Can I configure a premade image to adjust to 300dpi or will I need to recreate the whole thing?

>> No.4021106

>>4021063
you'll need to start over unfortunately.
if the template is too small you'll have to find a higher res one, but it shouldnt be too hard to create another from any other snes label

I opened the source image for the template and the Scale Image window defaulted to 299.9 dpi
Is that a solid indicator of the image actually having that quality or is that GIMP (yes, I'm using GIMP) just fucking with me?

>>4021118
yeah that should be fine then

>> No.4021126

>>4021106
>>4021118
Disregard, GIMP lets you identify image properties and the template is 300dpi. However, the assets might not be, so what should I do in that case?

>> No.4021130

>>4021126
i'd open them in gimp and check that they're 300dpi, if not you'll have to redo them and save them as JPEG this time
if you do end up printing them, and it's you doing it yourself, print through gimp rather than printing the JPEGs

>> No.4021134

>>4021130
As a JPEG? I thought PNG would usually be the way to go in cases like these.
Also, I can't print them myself. Where'd I want to go to get them printed? Like, any sites that do this as a service?

>> No.4021136

>>4021134
no idea where you can print them, google is your best bet

when I've worked with high dpi images in the past i've either saved them as jpeg or tiff, or printed them through photoshop's print window
