What are your thoughts on this guy?

For one, he's just another guy profiteering off of gaming nostalgia. But on the other hand, he's providing a very important service. A lot of gaming history is hidden in old magazines and only in Japanese. By translating them and publishing them, he's allowing English fans to understand some of the history behind the games.

Paying a guy to translate a bunch of gaming history is HUGELY important IMO.

That's something you'd hear the retards over at /v/ would say. It's perfectly acceptable to pay someone to translate stuff. Especially important stuff like this.

Very strange. He has Feb's Voting results, but he never translated them. And then he has the March short list. Nothing for April and May. So he's months behind. If he wants to take a break, fine, but he's being paid fro this. This is basically a job.

Well, he's providing a nice service so I don't mind. These interviews can help improve the Wikipedia pages, and are useful for dispelling myths and misunderstandings about games.

RIP.

He's just a guy with access to the archived material at the Tokyo National Diet Library.

I think we need to setup people to just go and scan all that shit, and put that up online, so that we can translate it later instead of just relying on one guy.

It would take him 13+ years to work through all the interviews on his list. This way, we can have multiple people work on translations and get ti done way quicker.
