So I just recently got myself an Everdrive 64, since 64 emulation is kinda shite.(A cart that allows you to load roms onto an actual N64). I'm definitely gonna be playing a lot of it, even cleaned out my controller and console in preparation, but I'm wondering what games I should play. I know all the big ones people recommend, the Rare games, Pokemon Snap, Mario Party, OoT, etc. But I'm wondering, does anyone here have any lesser known games they'd like to recommend? Ones that aren't on every "Best N64 games ever" list ever made?

Here's some with really short descriptions.
Hybrid Heaven, a strange RPG/Fighting game hybrid. One of the few RPGs on the console.
Last Legion UX, a mecha-fighting game similar to Virtual On. Japan only but recently got a translation.
Rocket Robot on Wheels, a standard collectathon platformer. It stands out however by having an impressive physics engine, with puzzles revolving around it.
Rakuga Kids, a 2D fighter with a nice chalk drawing art style. PAL and JPN only.
Bangai-O, shoot 'em up where one can flood the screen with missiles and cause pure mayhem. Japan only.
Glover, platformer where each stage requires you to carry a ball to the end.

>64 emulation is kinda shite

Why does everyone here keep saying that? I love my N64 emulator. Are you all just repeating a meme? If an emulator can let you play a variety of games you used to play on the real system, the visuals look like they did on the real system, the buttons do the same thing they did on the real system, and it doesn't randomly shut off in the middle of playing it, what else do you want out of it? Is this another one of those 'autistically obsess about visual details nobody notices unless you're trying really hard to look for them' episode?

It's funny because everything you mentioned is exactly what's wrong with PJ64 and other N64 emus for now. Maybe, just maybe, things will change for the better but it's too soon whether improvements will certainly be made.

>>4006657
So ... you already got recommendations but that wasn't enough and you demand for more instead of just putting in a little effort to lurk on the internet to watch some more gameplay footage of games or reading reviews about them? Hell there's even a channel on youtube that's dedicated to reviewing as good as every N64 game released and even does some reviews on japanese imports. If you weren't so lazy you would have encountered it, watched a video or 10 of it and you'd have more recommendations without wasting your time here. Also, you say you got an everdrive. Then what's stopping you from getting a torrent with every N64 game ever and try out some of them over the course of months? I mean, it's not gonna cost you money and it's not like you're in a hurry to get every N64 game you should play.

well, let's try this here:
recently my everdrive 64 started giving me faster framerates than it should. I didn't change anything concerning the setup or the roms I'm using, it's PAL roms on a PAL n64. The change is subtle enough for me to be not sure if it's a permanent issue, I confirmed my suspicion by comparing my original snowboard kids cartridge with the rom I usually play. has anyone else run into this problem?

Banjo-Kazooie,
Star Wars Episode I: Racer,

Mario Party 2,

They're the games I was into around the time my late father forced me to rape my mom. He'd frequently beat the shit out of us. I'll never seek to inquire what the matter with him was, as a person. I have personally only kept and used the first 4 I fixed up.

Pic related is what I use. They only have one major flaw which is that the cables come zip-tied together and that will get in the way when you try to close the controller. And it's annoying to cut off.

Yeah, big time. Instead of attempting to replicate the N64's hardware with semi-successful results, an ED64 is using the real hardware, so it has 99.9% compatability. And the few games that don't work right on it, and it's like, enough to count on one hand, have patched versions you can get to fix them. The things are like 110 dollars, but when you consider how expensive N64 games can get, it easily is worth it.

>the buttons do the same thing they did on the real system
There is no 3D stick that's quite the same as the N64's. This is noticeable when playing games like Starfox, S&P or any games that requires precise aiming. Also doing little things like all the different speed animations in Mystical Ninja.
The C-buttons are also not the same in other controllers, even if they're 6 face buttons, small C buttons on the N64 controller are convenient for some games that use it as a secondary d-pad.
You can probably fix this by getting an USB N64 controller, if those don't have input lag issues, but there's still the problem that N64 emulators still aren't perfect for most games other than SM64 and OOT, which is what the emus were built around.
