Is there any particular reason Mednafen runs SNES games slowly? Is there anything I can do to improve it? I have Medgui reborn too.

>It's all in your head

Incorrect. I tested Mega Man X on real hardware, tested it in other emulators, and tested it in Mednafen, and Mednafen runs it slowly. Its playable but you can very clearly tell something is off.

Mednafen is perfect, it's your toaster of a computer that is wrong.

lol i have an i7 and a nvidia 970 its not a toaster

I just tested it on real hardware and I can see clear speed differences in frames between mednafen and super nes. If you cant help me out then idk why you bothered wasting your time posting, just to make an ass out of yourself by assuming something wrong about my computer?

Shit anon, get it together.

You must have fucked something up with your settings, Mednafen is pretty accurate.

>> No.4002968

Because it's not a cycle-accurate emulator.
Also make sure to be using an analog signal, don't tell me you're trying to play retro games using HDMI.

>> No.4002973

You dumbass must have downloaded a PAL rom

No, but I have before and its never been a 10 frame difference. This is just too significant.

>>4002964

Your standards are ridiculously high if that is what you consider a toaster.

>>4002965

I haven't changed any video settings at all.

Thanks for this thread OP, you totally made my morning.

Now try playing a PSX-era JRPG in PAL mode!

I'm glad my dumb ass could make someone smile, but I don't think I'm interested in trying out more PAL games after that. It was playable but...I couldn't do it. Mega Man X is not that great at 50fps.

Mednafen uses a very old version of bsnes (v59), which while faster than current higan (v102), it's still slower than Snes9x 1.54

>> No.4003105

>>4003081

i'm getting 60 frames now with very little noticeable difference between legitimate hardware and mednafen

that's all i care about

you don't know you're in hell until you see heaven

>> No.4004749

Mednafen use two core for Snes emulation.
The bsnes core is hungry of resource but it's more accurate, and Faust module less accurate, for slow machines.
Faust module is a new emulator by Ryphecha and it work great on my eeepc 4g overclocked at 800 Mhz, only any games has some video glitch but it's most usable.
You can enable it by MedGuiR pressing the button with a red F located in left bottom of the GUI.

Are you kidding me m8? Snes9x runs Mega Man correctly and I use an underpowered laptop.
