X-Men vs Street Fighter because I'm a scrub and it's what my friends and I spent our allowances on every week since the video store by our school had a cab.

Great fun was had by all, and I've never replicated that fun with any other fighter.

This game almost killed the street fighter franchise.

The new characters were meh. Necro was like dhalsim with blanka's shock, remy was like the faggot version of guile, tanga brothers, sean managed to be worse than dan. Not to mention Q, ORO, and Twelve. Jeez.

The parry system killed zoning.

People whiffed attacks to build meter.

Unblockable setups from urien and oro. This isn't marvel vs capcom, it has no place in a street fighter game.

Chun-li was OP.

Honestly I think people that enjoy sf3 would be better off playing something like kof or whatever.

I play Alpha Max often solo. Often on dramatic mode. It's satisfying to be able to grab someone out the air as Karin and drive them right into the earth, especially after my partner knocks them skywards to begin with.

You could make the imba argument about almost any retro Capcom fighter. ST has Claw, VSAV has Zabel, MvC2 has the usual suspects, CvS2 has A-Dictator, etc. If balance is what you want, Hyper Fighting is probably the only Capcom fighter that would interest you at a high level. Good look finding competition for it, though.

The game was designed for CRTs, and on those pixels are not square, they get squished and stretched a bit. So on anything that uses square pixels, CPS2 games in particular (for some reason) look quite stretched, while a CRT would display everything normally

You can squash the image if you want, but then you get ugly artifacts that just aren't worth it

I hated playing 3rd strike online because faggots would always play Urien and trap me into that stupid mirror super that was seemingly impossible to get out of.

Street Fighter Alpha 2 for me, it felt like more pure SF2 style gameplay, all the juggling in Alpha 3 was a bit too much like the VS series.
