Why aren't you playing the comfiest shooter of the late 90's edition.

>> No.3926830

seriously

>> No.3926846

I loved this back in the day, but it's one of those games I'm too afraid to try playing again. It is most likely a lot more unplayable in today's standards than I think it is. I prefer to let my memories remain uncontaminated.

It's not on Mac.

>> No.3926854

Loved it back when it was fresh, but it came out during an unfortunate transitional era where it and a lot of experiences like it are better served to memory than re-living the experience.
What pisses me off is that they never made a sequel, and nothing similar to it has really been attempted since.

You can beat the whole game in under 6 hours senpai. The GOG version plus a couple fixes from Wsgf and it plays decently.
>>3926851
Pirate Windows 7 and use dual boot?
>>3926848
It's fun and nostalgic for fps games back in the late 90's but with an anime style. Comfy is shorthand don't get so autistic about it.

I replayed it recently and had fun.

I already did. It's a fun enough shooter, especially for someone like me who is far too into giant robots, but it fizzles out at the end.

>> No.3926902

I was really obsessed with this game, I barely knew about anime type mech stuff and didn't know how to obtain it or owned any consoles. this game just happened to be a blessing because I was also into FPSes at the time.

Replayed it awhile back but yeah I agree with most here, it's right before the time of WASD Mouse being standard and i simply just enjoyed it more as a kid.

Yeah the last boss and the level before that do kinda suck ass. The game was rushed and a lot of stuff got cut, they also initially thought they might do two expansion packs.

Save scumming and the fact the levels are small helps this a lot. But your right some corners are just cheap af, one shot to the foot can kill you and the kato grenades backfire a lot.

It is one of monoliths worst games. The lithtech engine was a disaster and the only good game on it is a rather average no one lives forever. They needed to get that tech sorted before they could make a competent game.

both turds with absolute shite for gameplay. games with bad gameplay are bad games, period. core rpg is also a genre for friendless manchildren that are socially stunted enough to relate to pixelated cartoons. I don't play games to sift through some poorly written story made for retards; I play games to PLAY games. actually neither of those two turds would be so terrible if they actually had some good gameplay to offer but they don't - which is probably because core RPG game creators know that their audience is too retarded to handle slightly more mechanically advanced games.

you are a pretentious little faggot straight out of /v/, listing pretentious "/v/-core" games like dude sex and system cocks 2 like they're gonna win you brownie points here. protip: they won't, and you should just go back to listing your real favourite shooter of all time (halo 3) because then you'll at least be an honest little cuck and not the obvious gaping asshole of a target you currently are, kid.

You pretty much only need 1 point research skill to finish SS2, although hacking is *almost* mandatory, the rest depends on how well you can handle late game enemies (pro tip: if you're OSA psionic god, you can handle anything). Higher difficulties also need a hefty endurance stat if you don't wanna get one shotted.

This has some choices right? Does it matter, storywise? And which MCA is best?

>> No.3935745

>>3935003
There's one choice, about 2/3rds the way through the game, which decides what you do from then on. The levels, the ending, even what mode you play in (on foot vs. in mech) for most of the remainder of the game is decided by that binary decision.

There's also some lesser stuff (find the cat vs. don't) which has less impact, but that's the major one. It isn't Dishonored, but it isn't Mass Effect either.

Regarding MCAs: It depends on how much you value speed vs. armor. The weapons (barring the melee weapon each suit gets) are the same.
