Since we know that these Kickstarter revival games are basically destroying the reputations of the developers and series tied to them, let's go ahead and spill everything we've always hated about Castlevania before Iga fucks up something with Bloodstained.

the good castlevania titles were already released more than 20 years ago

I have a sneaking suspicion that Iga just really REALLY liked Visual Kei.

IGA had an interview with Mana-sama and got him to make a ringtone in Japan to promote Harmony of Dissonance.

Anyway, Mana seems to be more of a classicvaniafag than metroidvania.

Women have no place being depicted as warriors, so regardless of how the men in his games look, he's correct.

You're probably one of those people who things that Sylvia in Castlevania 3 is a man, aren't you?

No. Any other questions?

Will your hatred of woman keep you from buying Bloodstained when it comes out (if it comes out)?

I wouldn't buy that game because 1, it's ugly and 2, I don't feel the need to play another Igavania in this lifetime.

Try telling that to Iga-fanboys.
I pointed out in a thread that the graphics looked PS2 quality and all they could say in defense was Might no. Pizza.

In a weird way, these hugely disappointing "spiritual successors" are the best thing that's happened to nostalgia in gaming, because it's actively killing fanbases and hero worship.

I don't hate IGA buuuut, seeing things like pic related kind of pisses me off as a classicvania fan.
But it's understandable, I only played SOTN, and I don't really remember many platforming action, it was mostly a 2D hack and slash game.

Anyway, IGA considers the "Dracula X" games to be a spinoff of the series. Which is kinda weird seeing as how Rondo of Blood is Dracula X and is part of the classic series.

It must be hard being such a beta NEET that you get triggered by an 8-bit depiction of a woman.

The real problem is that Castlevania wasn't "anyone's" series before Iga took over.

Apparently, Castlevania was a "I want to work on something, but don't feel like making a new series or step on someone's toes" series that anyone could direct if they wanted (which is why there's now timeline shit until Igavanias) and just decided to call dibs, because no one at Konami cared. Once he got his hands on it, it could change stuff about it to his own liking; like erasing games out of his timeline and pushing for all the games to be clones of SotN.

Well, the thing is the Castlevania series was like a precious torch that different dev teams would pass to each other.
The original team of CV1-3 passed it to the IV team, Castlevania III and IV were being developed at the same time, and IV's knowledge was passed to the Bloodlines team, who also consulted them.
If I'm not mistaken, Symphony of the Night was started by the Rondo team, or at least by Toru Hagihara who also worked as a programmer on Belmont's Revenge before Rondo.
IGA joined as a designer or some other job. Iga said that after working (successfully) on Tokimeki Memorial which sold a lot in Japan, Konami gave him the choice to work in any other series from Konami he wanted, and showed him a list. I think he didn't pick Castlevania first, can't remember what game it was but it seems they told him he couldn't get into that game dev team so next he picked Castlevania.
Some time during the development things changed suddenly and IGA became the assistant director and designer, but he's not THE director of SOTN. He did have a lot of input, it seems, though.

However, it seems IGA had known Hagihara for a while, he appears on the "special thanks" on Rondo of Blood.
