DOOM, almost every month because I like to run through the original stages.

OoT on the N64, because it marked my childhood.

SM64 because it is extremely relaxing.

This game gets me hyped every time I play it, every year for the last 20 something years. Aesthetic as fuck and has some of the best SNES music.

Who doesn't do this? I have certain games I like, but I can't play the same game year after year, even if it is a short 30~60 minute game.

I was playing #1 and had trouble figuring out where I'm supposed to go or how to get resources. I found a mine/lab place and went in but the enemies were tough and used up most of my resources. Then I went back to town, had no money, and gave up.

None, i like to spend time discovering new games. But from time to time i like to replay some DQ and FF games.

Super Mario Bros 2

I use it to test old NES's cause for some reason it works best, always sit through and before I know it beat the whole game.

Lots of good games sofar, would all play every year

Greatest of taste, NES Bubble Bobble easily one of my favorites. Lately I've been cracking on the arcade version that I got on my PS4, and it plays weirdly different. For one, creating a bubble directly under you through careful jumping is either near impossible or just impossible. But, on the cool side, the candy that lets you blow bubbles faster is fucking bananas fast. Arcade version also has the Secret World rooms if you don't die at all in the first 20, 30, and 40 levels. Its a trip.

You aren't a cuck, lets not be childish. It just requires more practice, I believe in you anon.

One of the things I like about 2 is the sense of inertia and flow the game has. Although there are often areas like climbing and underwater segments that seemingly make the game slower than a Mario or a Sonic in my opinion this creates a greater skill ceiling that can allow for much faster and more satisfying play with greater mastery of the mechanics.

Unlike Mario there are few underwater sections with slow enemy patterns to wait out, and unlike Sonic you do not need to contend with awkward jumping physics underwater. This allows you to instead weave quickly through relatively quick enemies and pass through underwater stages faster than either Mario or Sonic games. Flying segments with Squawks are mechanically similar
albeit generally harder due to an emphasis on brambles and zinger mazes to weave through.

Similarly, you can climb more quickly by jumping from one handhold to the next in rope rigging rather than climbing, allowing you to navigate climbing segments far faster if you are skilled.

Even the characters themselves are examples of the game rewarding higher skill with faster gameplay, as Diddy may not be able to glide like Dixie but is instead a much faster runner.

Keep at it, this is a game that rewards multiple playthroughs with its mechanics and design.
