Alright, part of the premise is that Ganon's followers will revive Ganon with the blood of Link if he dies.

So what if he falls into a lava pit or something? The game still shows Ganon being revived.

Realizing that Ganon can't possibly be revived anymore, a piglike minion decides to fake the ritual and masquerade as Ganon.
Unfortunately, despite looking fearsome, he is incredibly weak and he and his forces are easily beaten by the standing Hyrulean army.

Alright, since you asked...

Princess Zelda was put into a coma. Link wanted to wake her up so he could screw her and not be a fucking creep, so he engaged in this quest.

But the coma wasn't just to blueball Link into dangerous, blood letting situations.

It was to make Zelda immobile. Because Zelda was also knocked up. So, even is Link died in a lava pit all Ganon's follwers had to do was wait 9 months to get the child and kill it.

Win win.

I'd really like to see another Zelda game where Link already starts out as a renowned hero throughout the land. Yeah, we've played games where we've played as the same version of Link but he's always in a different land or something like that.
