There was some sort of interview to the Double Dare or Hidden Temple host. And even on that show they were pretty harsh to the kids in the sense that they'd tire them out intentionally after giving them lots of sugar before they would do challenges aired late that evening. So I wouldn't put it past them for getting some 'slow' kids to be on Nick Arcade.

A green screen. They're standing and playing in front of, or sometimes crawling on top of, a solid-green-colored backdrop that computers render the "game" images on top of.

The contests can only see green; they look at a monitor off to the side to see they action of what game they're actually in. If the contests ever seem uncoordinated, that's why. They were controlling themselves from a third-person POV.

I'd always heard that for Hidden Temple at least they would film something like 5 episodes at once. In the morning they'd start by filming all the moat segments for all the episodes. Then once those were done they'd do the question round for all the episodes, then all the temple games, then after that all the temple runs.

So by the time they were filming the temple on some filming days it could be as late as midnight.

According to this interview I found it was even worse. Sometimes something in the temple would break down and they'd have to do a reshoot. So the kid would have run the temple multiple times, tiring them out even more. And every time having to get raped by temple guards again.

Even as a kid I knew that element was beyond unfair; the routes through the temple, and the guards placement, seemed pre-determined, and the players weren't allowed to fight them off or outrun them, just bribe them.

Unless a team got all the medal pieces, they were guaranteed to lose at the final round unless the producers were feeling generous that day.

OCD doesn't necessarily mean 'clean, spotless'. It can also mean having things in their place, in order. Cleanliness is often hand-in-hand with it but not necessarily. OCD is more about 'repetitive motions or urges you can't stop' and not 'is a neat freak'.

For example, I get messy in the yard whilst planting my garden in the spring, and then I go inside and wash my hands. Then I go put the tools away and come inside. Then I go back outside and check that all the tools are put away again. They have to be in their places in the racks and everything has to be organized perfectly, but it doesn't have to be sterile. They do have to be checked every time I go in or out of the door, though.

For a while I've had a problem where I'm not sure if I locked my front door. I had it once where I left my house, drove about halfway to work, then had to turn around and come back home to check that I did in fact lock the front door. Of course, it was already locked. I also have this problem with making sure my computer is locked when I get up, even though I live by myself.

The other day I was checking my mail and left the keys in the mailbox and was a few blocks away before I realized that and now I'm afraid I might start having a problem where I have to check that I did in fact make sure I locked my mailbox and that I do in fact have my keys with me.

Is this OCD?

I am OCD when it come to some things but as this >>389473 anon stated it don't make you a clean freak.

My room is a mess but I would seriously get piss if someone move any of my stuff or try to clean it up. I would clean it myself before having someone else touching my things even if they were to offer to clean it for free. I generally hate having my bedroom door open for whatever reason. If something is out of place it may or may not bug me depending how much I care about it.

It just a impulse that you can't control.

>> No.389641

>>389586
OCD is knowing you locked the door, having concrete evidence you locked the door, you're not worried about the door at all, and you still have to go check. You're checking the door without realizing it.

It's less like 'is my shit okay? what if someone breaks in?' and more like 'fuck my nose itches don't scratch it fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck'

>> No.389672

After moving into my new place the front door lock was unknowingly broken for like the first 5 months. I'd turn the handle and it'd feel locked so I thought it was okay. Now you just look up what's inside and it kills any mystery. But in 1992 they couldn't have known. Without the internet and Youtube you'd never be able to watch that video of the burial.
