what are some absolute must play games for TurboGrafx-16/PC-Engine? For the past decade all I've played was Alien Crush, Blazing Lazers and Bomberman '94 with a side serving of Super Star Soldier.

Poor you, being stuck with 4 of the best console games ever!

The ports of Salamander, Gradius, and R-Type were epic.
The first Bomberman was awesome.
Bonk series.
Splatterhouse.
1943 Kai is fucking amazing.
Super Darius and Super Darius II on Super-CDROM

Bonk's Revenge is incredible, you don't even need to play the other two TG16 Bonk games after that one

IIRC TG16 also had the only console port of the first Splatterhouse game

I'd really recommend New Adventure Island, Dragons Curse, Zipang, Parasol Stars and Galaga 88 as well. For CD I'd say Nexzr, Gate of Thunder, Winds of Thunder, Ys Books 1&2, Spriggan and the underrated Splash Lake

Yeah, I think the translations (from what I've heard other anons say) are like the obvious body-pillow guy plays PCE, the gay westaboo is the SEGA guy, and the Japanese normie plays SFC. But the normie has the real hipster thing going on, such were the 90s I guess.

Some of those are on my shopping list
>Tengaimakyou Ziria
>Mateki Densetsu Astralius
>Sol Bianca
>La Valuer
>Debut
>Graduation
>Graduation II Neo Generation
I played the Saturn version of Graduation II back in the day and didn't care for it all that much (Played Princess Maker 2 before it as my first character-raiser so Graduation seemed shallow by comparison) but I'm thinking I'm going to give Graduation another chance (along with Debut).

>Cosmic Fantasy 3
I played the English version of 2 and liked it, but I think a lot of my positive feelings toward it were just the novelty of the voiced animated cutscenes at the time. The series doesn't have all that great a reputation but maybe I'll give the rest a shot at some point.

Hey. So as I mentioned in another thread, I found a new, in-box Turbo for 20 dollars from Value World the other day. Kind of really stoked to try it out, I've never even remotely touched this consoles library.

I have some questions about it other than what games to play though. Can I just screw it in to most TV's with an analog port or will I need to get a converter of some kind? Are there any peripherals I should buy, like the CD Drive? Is there a flash cart available that you guys would recommend? And I guess any other important info.
