I just noticed the original Castlevania is out on the eShop. I've been waiting for a Castlevania other than Adventure to come out on it, so I've been playing that even though I re-beat it pretty recently.

Gogo is such a fucking badass. Take a character that deals tons of magic damage and equip both them and Gogo with earrings. Non-stop magic. It's amazing how fast you can kick the shit out of pretty much any enemy that doesn't absorb all elements.

Just got off a session of Final Fantasy III. Got to Saronia, wondering whether I should change everyone to Dragoons or just grind to 33 and see if I can beat Garuda that way.

In a little bit I might fire up some Megaman X. I've got Chill Penguin and Flame Mammoth already beaten, so I'll probably take on Spark Mandrill next.

In recent years I have gone back to do just that myself. I've done it three times now. Twice on my cartridge, and once while emulating on the Wii.I must say, my favorite Extra is Extra 2: Hit That Switch. It's crazy fun and the fact that it really only lasts about twenty seconds makes it intense as hell. It's fun to watch others' try, to beat it, too. Also, don't forget the extra red coin in Extra 3.

Honestly, I could never quite get into Secret of Mana. The charge mechanic slowed it down a ton, the AI was terrible, and honestly, by the time I got to the one tiger boss that rolled around a lot, I'd just plain given up.

Its a good play. That said, I hate 'run-from-A-to-B-the-game' types. Most RPG's fall into that. SoM was great because I played with 2 friends on the multitap. Great fun, and the party play really was needed to get item and magic usage spot on.

Yes. You can get 21 red coins in Extra 3. It's relatively difficult, but it can be done. I wouldn't advise using a wireless controller though. Tight controls are pretty essential for it. I wasn't able to do it with the Wii. Only the SNES control pad and once with the Acclaim wireless control pad.. It took a lot longer for that one, though.

It's the world/atmosphere, the storyline, the music, and the world building gameplay. Combat is pretty fun but somewhat repetitive, and magic is fairly useless. If you enjoyed Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3, you should try Terranigma, since it's also an action RPG. Terranigma also features world building and a darker, more lonely world though. Give it a go.
