What did most games that fall into this category mean by this?

I'm totally having a Mandela effect moment. I swear this show was called Wacky Racers.

not gonna lie, other than the coloured background, this looks like a C64 game.

Nah, pretty sure it was always wacky races.

Though I think during the opening the Narrator did at one point say "Wacky racers"

The console itself is retro. Hence why dreamcast games are allowed

Love the gradient sky, the GBC's color palette was amazing.

In some very specific situations the hardware can output more colors on screen than even the SNES.

It said, right on the start:
"And here they are! The worlds most daredevil group of daffy drivers who ever whirled their wheels in the Wacky Races! Competing for the title, of the worlds wackiest racer!"

Every Infogrames game on the Game Boy, Colour and Advance fall into this category. Some play better than others but they had serious mastery of graphics if nothing else.

Yurop. They stuck too long with their C64 demos. Lived without NES and didn't clutter their games with gameplay

Sometimes getting stuck with old tech is good.

Meanwhile in Brazil the monkeys got stuck with Genesis and never ever produced a single good game or something that isn't a rip-off.

Literally the only good part about C64 was the sound. I guess any attempts to create any semblance of gameplay on this machine were doomed from the start, especially with piracy and game prices more akin to discount bin.

Got the urge to play pic-related earlier tonight. I forget how gorgeous this game is. It's probably not just one of the best-looking Genesis games, but one of the best-looking 16-bit games, period. I can't think of many other games that had such flawless art direction.

My only Infogrames game was Snoopy Tennis, and actually I found the graphics to be mediocre, but I loved the gameplay. I actually preferred it to the GBC Mario Tennis.

I played the shit out of both Earthworm Jim games when I was a kid, so I've taken them for granted all these years, but they really do have some of the best graphics of their time, and the sprite animations are amazing.

The funniest thing about this game is it was so advanced for the time, most of the arcade boards overheated and fried themselves. Finding a working one is far more difficult than most arcade machines.
