Due to all the collections, I think plenty of people know about Ristar.
NiGHTS is great too. I'm not sure if either is better than Sonic, but they definitely deserve more love.

The reason they aren't is because they only have like three games between the two. They are great characters, the games they have are great, but they don't have enough games to linger in the mainstream consciousness like DK and Kirby. That being said, I really wish that they would have had more games so they could at least be B-listers.

Ristar is dreadful. Aesthetically it's superb, but it's a total chore to play. Feels like shit simply moving around.
