fucking kids I swear

you were supposed to have the hardware already from your youth

But NO, you are probably born in 1999 or somethng like that and thought it was a good idea to buy a genesis and famicon in 2016

I'm stuck between both OP. I have a Wii and PSP that can emulate pretty much anything I could ever want to play, but I also have lots of original hardware as well. I enjoy collecting and having physical carts, but I also don't much enjoy the insane prices some of the more sought after games go for. I can never really decide which I like more. One day I'm like "damn emulators are awesome fuck paying 40-60 bucks for 30 year old hardware" and the next I'm gleefully searching out good deals on Genesis games.

You can have both, it just doesn't make much sense. But it's whatever makes you happy, ya feel?

You always can buy Retro USB controllers there for a way funnier, more accurate gaming experience or whatever the shills say whenever they are peddling their crap here.

But now seriously, I have a retro Nes, Snes and Genesis (6 buttons, beetches) and I only paid 14$ for the entire lot.

Probably the pseudo scripted excuses spammed on all these thinly veiled Retron and clone console advertisement threads.

Every time somebody called them on that or commented the bad quality of the console one or more people immediately countered the critics with walls of text that among other things, claimed that shifting among controllers and carts were part of a more acurate and funnier gaming experience, and only envious poorfags would disagree.

It was like reading a copypasta.

I have a SNES with everdrive and a Sony Trinitron PVM.

I also have a gaming PC with all the emulators and an xbox one wireless controller.

I don't feel any input lag on PC at all and I prefer the wireless controller. I have both in my study and sit on my sofa to play.

Really the difference is minor. If I had loads of space and loads of money I'd stick with the real thing. But I can't help but feel that people who collect games and want genuine hardware/CRT have shiny object syndrome.

Buying is only for the ambitious collector's. Even then I would imagine most would only want to collect the good games they remember. Not every single game.

I know for me I'd just stick to the essential great games if I had the money to collect. That Splatterhouse God of War clone they made looks so awful. It lost all the charm of the classic games.

>> No.3807532

That reminds me of that time where I invited my buddy, he's a big collector/hoarder and couldn't imagine that I only bought racing games on my Dreamcast (Metropolis Street Racer, Demolition Racer, Sega GT, Sega Rally, Crazy Taxi with the exception of Space Channel 5 and Sonic Adventure)
But these are the games I played with my dad when I was young and they are the best on the system for that reason.

I don't get why you need to have a physical copy of something you have no emotional attachment toward. That's hoarding.

i'm an old timer so i get the best of both worlds, cause i still have all my games and crap from when i was a kid which i autistically hoarded, and i bought up a bunch of stuff when prices were low in the early 2000's, (although not as much as i wish i had), and i live in a part of the country where old grandmaws still have yard sales and sell their dead wigger grandsons nes and games for 10 bucks so i can have the luxury of having a ton of old toaster nes's and genesis model 3's and originial playstations and 15 copies of smb duck hunt and sonic 2. but i emulate everything anyway on my NES classic and i just love to have tons of old dusty vidya crap piled up in my hoard anyway so it doesn't matter if it's cheap common stuff as long as it's cheap and i have a huge pile of old worthless crap that pleases me to own when i sit around drunk looking at my big pile of crapola pretty cool huh.

If you didn't grow up on a console and crt, you'll prob be just as happy playing on emu. It's not some cancerous eyesore with unplayable lag like some claim but it does feel off, hollow, cheap in a way. It's like buying a good looking prostitute vs picking up a good looking woman.

The top tier solution is buying the console but pirating the games.
