It's actually an amazing game for the GBC. Probably the very most realistic looking game for that platform. There was supposed to be a Resident Evil port that got cancelled but at least we got this.

Whoa is that a fucking GBC?
Had the cartridge some extra juice or something? Looks almost like that Asterix XXL on GBA

It is. It was ported by Pocket Studios. They captured the backgrounds and 3D models from the Playstation and PC versions then meticulously scaled them down and converted backgrounds to something like animated gifs and the 3D character models to sprites. They probably would have had a very successful future had the GBA not already been released at that point and capable of achieving similar effects much more easily.

If you want to see HotGen's port of Resident Evil for GBC that would have been released in '99 check out this video.

I bought it back in the day. The exploration scenes are beautiful, and it is a little scary, but the combat scenes are awful, because it changes the gameplay, pic related.
Also if you spend too much ammo you can't finish the game.

>>3789017
Yeah, I guess because they had to dramatically reduce the number of static backgrounds there wasn't enough room to effectively do combat and they had to open it up with a bit more loopy scrollable backgrounds. Ammo management is survival horror 101 but running, turning, carefully firing and running some more are pretty key to New Nightmare. I played it on handheld myself only the Playstation version on my Xplay. I stopped when I couldn't figure out what to do in the attic with the different sounding footsteps. I didn't want to cheat so I took a break to think about it and haven't gone back. Survival horror in a spooky environment with headphones (or a patch cable to the stereo in your truck) is an atmospheric experience.

just get the GOG PC version, even the toastiest toasters can run it and its one of the best looking prerendered backgrounds-style games. fully customizable gamepad support too.

woah I love late games getting bizarrely advanced to it´s time, specially in retro games.
That RE looks fantastic. Any more particulary great ports on GBC?
by ports I´m also looking for great original games from other franchises (MGS:GB)

I´m aware of that version pal, I just want to play the GBC version. thanks anyways

Detective. I hope you are aware your salary is up for review soon.

Am I mistaken? Or does your job description not entail posting on video game imageboards?

Some raw screenshots. Those >>3788557
>>3788590 not only are in .jpg but show details not present in the real Edward Carnby sprite.

The game may look good, even the shooting segments look pretty good for GBC but it's really boring and shorter than the home consoles versions.

Cannon fodder has an FMV cutscene that looks amazing on the gbc, it has really bad sound though
