Discuss StarFox, StarFox 2 & StarFox 64.

Has there ever been another rail shooter that controls/feels like SF64?

Honestly one of my Top 5 games of all time.

Although I recognize Star Fox 64 as a superior title, I really do enjoy playing Star Fox 1 more. I think it was just so incredible to me at the time that the feeling of amazement it gave me was just unable to ever be replicated again. On a side note, those bastards at Nintendo have a complete ROM of Star Fox 2 with features not present in any of the leaked betas and won't release it. Fuck them.

>> No.3788209

I can't get used to Star Fox's visuals.
Star Fox 2 is a myth.
Star Fox 64 is good but i'm burned out on it.

It pains me how Star fox 64 is one of the best games out there. With straight-to-the-point iconic dialogue, branching paths, and tons of replayability. It also pains me that it's one of the few amazing rail-shooting games out there and Miyamoto-san doesn't seem to realize what made it so wonderful. Perhaps he'll be able to realize it's full potential on the switch but I'm not holding my breath.

Panzer Dragoon never got a remake but this did. If I were to choose I would easily pick Panzer Dragoon since it needs it so much more badly. But alas, it wasn't meant to be.

>>3788254
Have you never seen gameplay of it? There's a fucking 99% done rom dumped.

>> No.3788538 [DELETED]

>>3788268

It's not real. Those roms are fake. You said it yourself, the game is incomplete and fake. There is no Fae. There is no Miyu. Starfox 2 is a myth in the same vein as Metroid Dread. Starfox Zero was the first game with walkers in it.

>> No.3788553

>>3788538
anon, you're retarded. Miyamoto himself has acknowledged star fox 2 in interviews regarding it and how he wanted to bring the walker from it back from it.

Argonauts has stated that there's a fully completed version of the game with some elements that aren't present in the dumped rom.

but I will stop here, as it is obvious you're being retarded on purpose.

And just because there a rom doesn't mean the game exists. It's not canon, unofficial, bootleg, unfinished, tech demo, whatever you want to call it, but it's certainly a fake game.

3D and VC have less lag. 3D has gyro aiming.

Is this one of those games where you want lag? And is the gyro aiming the only control scheme or just an option?

Cart is the original experience if you care for that. Also I feel that it plays better with the N64 Pad than the 3DS inputs, but that is completely subjective preference.

3D is a neat port/remaster that added a lot of neat features I'd have loved as a kid in the original. Some people dislike the new VOs and yes, they aren't AS good as the originals, but not even remotely as bad as some make them out to be.
The graphics overhaul is very nixe looking, if you care for that (but I still think the original looks pretty nice already).

Bottom line, se what your preferences are and go with that. A cart and a 3DS copy go for around the same at the moment (3D is really cheap now), so if you don't have a preference, go with the option that is the most convenient for you.

Go with the cart, or Wii VC. The 3ds version looks pretty big the voice acting kills it, and some levels like Area 6 are designed to be played mashing the controller.

64 is one of my all time favourite games, I ha e played through it countless times and have will never get tired of it. It's the perfect length for a play session, whatever route you take if you don't die at all it will take you near enough an hour exactly from start to finish, maybe 45 mins on the easier route

They can't unfortunately. The rights to /any/ of the Super FX games are in legal limbo. That's why there hasn't been a VC release of the original Yoshi's Island or even Star Fox 1. If they could put out Star Fox 2 from beyond the grave like they did with the English version of EarthBound NES, they probably would.

>> No.3790068

>>3790020
Why is that?
I know Argonaut developed the SuperFX, and retained the rights to the SuperFX, but that doesn't stop nintendo from emulating it, right?

US law allows emulation, which is why emulators are legal, just not downloading the ROMs.

The US isn't the only market. I know what you want to say "but America first". That doesn't work with the Japanese. Sometimes I am not even sure they realise other countries exist.

We usually don't.

Had a Buddhist monk in one of my classes who got arrested when he went back to China visit for criticizing the government. The realization that freedom of speech is a huge privilege was visually apparent on my peers faces.

Also, people in Europe understand US politics better than we do for the most part.
