The old thread is gone and I was just needing some help.
I ordered a Genesis Flashcart from TaoBao and used google translate to get through the account creation.

Now I can't figure out how to log in to Alipay. They never asked for an email so I think my account is my phone number.

I doing a password reset but it doesn't send a code to my phone.

If someanon wanted to be a dear and post a quick noob guide to taobao I'd be very thankful

Why use taobao over AliExpress?
Description of the whole "agent" thing

Etc

>> No.3760062

I've tried registering on Tao like a year ago and the confirmation should have been done via SMS code for Alipay, but it turned out that they didn't send them for numbers outside of Chinkland and that was the only way. Maybe it has changed since then, dunno. But what I really want to say is
>Why use taobao over AliExpress?
literally no reason. They have flashcarts in stock now, and the prices are the same. The repros are a bit cheaper on Taobao, but that's it.
Anyways, if you want to stick with Tao, good luck, maybe some other anon will be of more help than me.

I probably should have looked at AliExpress, but both sites were new to me. I can log in to TaoBao with an account I made there, then click on a "paypal" button that takes me to Alipay and logs me in to see my account.

I get this message telling me I need to confirm. If I click on that site it brings me to another page that says I should not confirm until the item is received or I could loose both.

It's really confusing.

Prices are slightly lower on TaoBao, but it's often off-set by the need to use an agent. You 'buy' an agent through eBay and then like, Skype with them and tell them what you want. AliExpress is convenient, has excellent buyer protection, and ships to the US and takes US credit cards without issue. The only real reason to use TaoBao is if you need some 'Official' Chinese versions of Krikzz EverDrives. Otherwise you can just get Chinese clones that don't update. Bootleg games, controllers, hardware clones, replacement parts, are all much easier to order via AE.

I think TaoBao has some stuff Aliexpress doesn't. I was checking the site for the Mega Everdrive but all they have is the shell for a knockoff version.

If anyone knows where I could find it somewhere else for around $100 I can cancel and get it there.

Here's a crappy screenshot showing off the GB Boy Colour I got from AE if anyone is thinking about getting one. I can answer any questions too, I'm pretty impressed overall.

Also got a bootleg, english translated copy of Last Bible II which is rad. The Super Game Boy palette is broken, presumably due to the english patch, but the border works great on the SGB. Saving works, no issues at all.

The X7 sells for about $170 US. I have the $30 x3 clone but I was wanting the x5 or x7 to use as a Sega CD ram cart. Old ramcarts sell for like $50- $70.

Did you already pay with alipay? If you didn't you should just ignore all that crap and go through an agent.

If you did already pay see this: https://www.techinasia.com/tmall-taobao-english-how-to-guide

I already paid through Alipay. I think they are shipping it to a warehouse where I then confirm and then they ship to me.

I posted a picture here of what it says on Alipay.
>>3760091
Clicking on Conform Receipt takes me back to TaoBao which shows me the page in this post. It says shipped and they have already charged my card for it. It's not being shipped to me even though I put in my address. It does say show my name in the Information line.

There is some Chinese on the bottom that google won't translate so I am not sure what to do here.

That website would have been handy when I was first trying to order

Hmmm I really don't know, double check what that guide says the actual translations of the Chinese stuff says. Next time I'd recommend going through an agent because you'll get better shipping options and tracking for sure.
