Not retro, but one of the things I love most about Just Cause 2 is that the vehicle physics really reminds me of Sega Rally. So much of that game for me was playing it like an open world rally racer. I yearn for a real racing game where the waypoints can be an hour of continual driving away.

If you're into african raids with a fucking Porsche 959 Jaleco's Big Run is your choice. I also like the SFC version
