I picked this up cheap when a store near me was getting rid of it's PSX stock with the PS2 taking over. It's a sort of RPG/Fighting game hybrid and it's great fun. Unfortunately it seems to have flown completely under the radar

It's a roguelike, if you're into that sort of thing. Right down to the cursed items and 8-way tiles.

I'm actually in the same boat as you. I saw it a long time ago but just started playing yesterday after seeing it pop up on /vr/.

Familiar AI is infuriating.

Its a tower exploring, dating sim, city builder all in one.

fire it up on a psx emulator and see how you like it. the tower is pretty challenging if you don't abuse save states.

and please never play the gbc port of this game. it was the most disappointing thing to happen to me on that system.

This one got lost in the cracks due to it being released around the time where several Pokemon-esque games were being released (kinda like OP's game, which is also good).

Aside from it being really buggy, it is a surprisingly nice game. We don't talk about the animated series.
