That was a real thing, OP. Good luck finding one though. It's a clone console from back in the day but it's a very high quality one, close to official.

Personally, I dream of:
- The fully realized SNES CD
- Full-colour Virtual Boy
- Yokoi designed Game Boy Color
- SEGA Saturn with full SMS/Genesis/CD/32X backwards compatibility
- A version of the PC-FX from a reality where people actually bought it and they made more games for it

And not /vr/, but
- A Dreamcast successor (no, the Xbox doesn't count)
- Game Boy IRIS, the GBA successor that got scrapped in favour of the DS

That would be my ultimate gameboy.
The SP/GB are too small for my fat murrican hands and they cramp hard after a while.
And the GBA original has no backlight, and you have to use batteries.

Don't get all technical shit with me like "oh no it has a soundchip that was still in production up to 2007" or some stupid bs.
So many great games that I remember fondly on there, both Metroid games, Pokemon, sonic advance, Kirby nightmare in dream land and magic mirror, the Mario games, warioware games (fucking rotation sensors were the fucking shit), the Yoshi game with the tilt mechanic, the countless RPGs, all the platformers,etc.
the GBA was the first console I owned. Everything before was just weekend rentals at the video store back when you could rent consoles.

You base your entire premise on an arbitrary line (the year it was released) when actually the GBA is tecnically far more retro than all I mentioned before will ever be.
