Is there anyone here who can rip the tiling background from the Gameshark ROM for Nintendo 64?

I know this can be done on at least version 1.6 of PJ64 coupled with Rice's video plugin, but I don't have any computer running Windows right now, so I can't do it myself, and since PJ64 requires DirectX it won't run in a virtual machine.

If anyone is willing to help me, the ROM is available on the internet under the name "GameShark Pro V3.3 (Unl) [!]".

Have you tried wine? I think it'll work on Macos if you're not running Linux.

I think Wine would have the same problem due to DirectX. Anyhow, I've found out that the Gameshark ROM won't run on PJ64, old or new. Is there any other way to rip the textures?

So im trying to do this and the rom is crashing the emulator. I tried with pj64 1.6 and the current version. any ideas?

Well, then I have no idea what to do. As I said earlier, this rom apparently doesn't play in PJ64, old or new. I found some software for ripping graphics which is called something generic like N64rip, but you gotta know at what memory address the graphics are located for it to work.

well pj64 has debugging tools to view the memory but if i can't load the rom i can't use them. :\

That sucks. Oh well, thanks for trying at least.

Just for fun I tried a few other emulators with no luck. I also looked into ripping the graphics straight from the rom and it looks like a lot of trouble. It is common for graphics locations to be stored in tables and compressed to sort it all out would be quite a hassle.

This ROM has very little graphics data, so it might not be compressed.
