How do you guys actually enjoy playing old games without getting depressed or just raging at how so few of them are even worth playing?

There's only like, 5, good N64 games. 90+% of SNES games are licensed trash. There's some good PSX games, but there's so fucking many, you have to wade through a ton to find a one gem.

Everytime I download an old game I know I played as a kid, Im in near disbelief at how awful it is.

The exception so far is the original psx Medal of Honor, which is God damn amazing, probably even better than Goldeneye, excluding multiplayer.

Everything else though is trash, pure trash

Depends, the acclaim ones work more like regular, early 3D fighter and weren't bad back in the day. But WWF Attitude had insane amounts of customization that was really, really fun.
(I made so many CPU controlled King of the Rings with custom characters)

That being said, the AKI Wrestling games, not only the WWF titles, were all pretty great.
Wrestlemania 2000 had a really long and cool career mode for example.
WCW/nWo Revenge was much simpler, but fun nonetheless.

I actually haven't, which is why I was asking. I'm not a FPS guy. Especially if said FPS is pro-allies.

I doubt the PS controller allow for as much precision as the N64's stick does, though. It probably has clunky, slow controls like most other dual analog console FPS do.
I seriously doubt the gameplay is better. Anyway, not a big goldeneye fan either.
