Alright, so I'm prefacing this with saying that this the first time I'm playing Mega Man II (or any Mega Man Classic game in general), so I'd like to know if this is a problem plaguing any other Classic games as well, aight? Thanks

I'm on Wily Stage 5 currently, and I have defeated all the Robot Masters for the second time. I'm out of E-tanks, and the only weapons I can use are the Metal Blade, Quick Boomerang, and Bubble Lead (as well as all 3 movement items). Now, I have full health and I cannot for the life of me get past the Wily robot ship. I get past the first form easily, but the second one's bubbles are just impossible to avoid. Seeing as I can't go back to previous levels a la Mario 3-onwards to grind, what am I to do? Am I fucked?
Because if so, this is just terrible game design. This isn't based on skill, it's just "you ran out of the measly four E-tanks we gave you, so fuck you, this game is now unbeatable."

It's entirely possible to beat the boss without getting hit. Just watch someone do it on youtube and do what they do.

Don't run out of bubbles though, you need them for the final form and if you run out then you really are fucked.

MM2 Wily Stage 5 is one of the notorious cases when beating the boss with buster only is nigh impossible without taking damage. Yes, the bubbles have huge hitboxes and they will hit you even if they look like they won't.

But don't lose hope yet: it's quite possible to beat the boss with metal blade, I just watched that. Doesn't look very hard, you will waste some health surely, but if you simply don't jump and shoot diagonally while trying to avoid his bubbles you can take him out with 50% health left or more.

There's a trick you COULD have used though, if you had that weapon: 1 crash bomb will take him out.

As for the other games, I don't remember it now, but I'd be very surprised if 3 or any later games had this kind of frustrating moments. 3 is a bit more fair, and 4/5 are just way easier.
