>a controller in port 2 could act as the arcade pedal
also as an effective troll button if someone else is playing and doesn't know you're up to no good

Well, it was in the manual, so yeah it was a well kept secret.

You mean Port 1. Port 2 was used by the Zapper, wasn't it?

No. The zapper went in port one. You fired off screen to change which game was selected and shot the screen to confirm.

>> No.3711002

>>3710995
Nope. The Zapper was plugged into Port 2 for most games, Duck Hunt included.

I know, they're retarded. They play it with a mouse.

Wrong.
>>3711002
Correct. The Select and Start buttons on Controller 2 don't function on most early NES games, since they used the same code as their Famicom counterparts (which had no Select and Start buttons on Controller 2 in the original model).

Pic related from the Duck Hunt instruction manual.

Did any lightgun games on the NES allow 2 zappers at once for multiplayer?

What did the pedal do?

>> No.3711768

>>3711538

You had to stand on the pedal to shoot. Taking your foot off it made your character take cover and let you reload.

Nope. The only console light gun games that I'm aware of that allowed two guns at a time were the Lethal Enforcers series by Konami on Super NES and Genesis (which used Konami's Justifier guns) and the Virtua Gun/Stunner games on Saturn.
