Firemen on the SNES (and sequel on PS1).

You play as a futuristic firefighter, which sounds more unique than it actually is. It's just a very clever top down run'n'gun. I think the game is creative and great, but ultimately not that unique.

You play as a POW scientist who makes his big escape from an enemy base by stealing a HUGE BATTLESHIP shaped like a golden dragon. Levels and powerups are semi-random with your playing style having an effect on what happens throughout the game.

Also there are 101 different endings for whatever reason.

I think the issue with Burning Rangers is that "firefighting" using an "ice beam" is very, very similar, in gameplay terms, to shooting a bunch of identical and very boring enemies
