ITT: non-retro vidya characters in retro vidya

Basically anytime a character (or character design) who debuted on a non-retro console who then made appearances on a retro console

I honestly can't think of any other examples, SNK vs. Capcom is a really unique case.

>misusing the term "retro" to begin with.
If you meant characters who debuted on a later console in a game for an earlier console, Yoshi was in quite a few NES games after Super Mario World and Peach's Castle from Super Mario 64 appears in Wrecking Crew '98. Also, Rockman & Forte had two bosses form Rockman 8.

And then there's Sonic on Master System and the Virtua Fighter 2 demake on Genesis.

There's literally every Genesis-era mascot on Master System, it seems

Pokemon games for Sega Pico.

Even if the demake actually had anything to do with the Advent Children spinoff (it doesn't, they just used the artwork and title 'cause CHINESE) it would still be a stretch.

For all intents and purposes, it's just an unauthorized adaptation of a -by our standards- retro game for a retro(er) console

Amitie, she replaced Arle as the main character in Puyo Puyo.

Puyo Pop Fever was first released for the arcades, then PS2 and a few weeks later the Dreamcast (2004).

Well, that was pretty ubiquitous in the 90s with all the downgrade ports for earlier systems. Half the Master System catalog is just that (but the early ones at least are reinventions instead of shitty crippled ports)

No, you're the autistic one, getting all wrapped up in the meaning of the word retro instead of just following the damn rules.

You're only mad because you know I'm right. Besides, the Neo-Geo was supported by SNK up until 2003, so it was bound to have a few games made for it beyond /vr/'s cutoff point based on a newer IP. Same thing with the PS1, N64, DC and even the GBC.

But, did they cross platforms and parties? PSX to SFC was pretty strange, man. Besides it was neither a port or a remake.

Yeah, most later Pico games look pretty good.

Disparado.
