What should I get for it. What are the essential games?

I'm a little groggy today, but here's some good ones off the top of my head:

>Spider Man
>Frogger
>Space Invaders (or any of the clones)
>Breakout
>Adventure

There's a few devs who typically put out decent games too, plus there's bound to be home-brew that's worth it.

You'll want to do a Composite Mod to it. He difference in picture quality is AMAZING. It's not a hard job, either. I've done a half a dozen of them so far.

One last thing, pick up some Sega Genesis controllers. They work a million times better than the original Atari controllers. No special adapter required, either. Just plug them in and go. The B button is the Fire button

So, any consumer TV with SCART input?
Unless you are American of course.
In that case, any TV with Component inputs and RGB -> Component transcoder.

BVM.
Not PVM.
BVMs weren't normally used outside of broadcast studios. PVMs were used in many more places.

Don't bother with an external one.

If you are using Tim's RGB mod, there is a place on the board for Tim's own Component add-on. A little daughter board.

There's an S-Video mod you can do as well. Almost any TV will have an S-Video input, and from what I understand, it's a bit better than composite. "They say", whoever the hell they are, that the S-Video and the RGB are nearly indistinguishable from one another on any standard consumer grade LCD tv.

I have a 7800 that I've done the composite mod to, and I can tell you first hand, compared to the shit RF output, the picture is already nothing short of amazing. I'll also be doing the S-Video sometime in the near future.

NES games are still generally accessible price wise. I'd like to know how the fuck Genesis games shot up in expense recently, that used to be the platform I stockpiled the most after the 2600. Intellivision also seems to be getting more expensive.
