A friend gave me his old Gameboy Color for Christmas, along with a copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. What are good places to find GBC games nowadays? Any hidden gems that aren't the obvious ones, like Pokemon?

jap sellers on ebay.

>hidden gems
Wario Land 3, Survival Kids, GTA2, Shantae, Harvest Moon 3, Link's Awakening DX + the Zelda Oracle games, Mario Golf/Tennis, Daikatana.

If you're into NES/SNES ports/remakes; SMB Deluxe, DKC, Mega Man Xtreme, Street Fighter Alpha and Mortal Kombat 4 are all decent considering the console and it's limitations.

The GBC didn't have a whole lot of games, let alone good ones. The good games it does have are really great though.

Pokemon Yellow, semi-common.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
no, seriously, that one and Philosopher´s Stone.
The other versions (PC,PSX...) were just average liscensed movie action game, but the first two Harry Potter on GBC ended up being two god tier rpg´s, perhaps the greatest western rpg on the console and definetly two hidden gems.. If you could pick a copy of the first game you should play it first, some mechanics repeat and improve in the second one, so is fun as fuck enjoying them on release order.
Just try it and thank me later pal

The OST is one of the best on the system. The game is basically a mix of Pokémon and Dragon Quest.
