My family is going on a long road trip tomorrow. I've downloaded the mobile versions of Final Fantasy 6 and 9. I've never played either before. Which should I start playing on the trip?

>> No.3692061

The mobile version of 6 is complete ass visually. 9 isn't that bad just make sure you don't use the cheats that they explicitly give you in the options.

Basically ignore 6 on mobile, play 9.
Just play 6 on a gba emulator with the snes patch

9

Get Might and Magic Clash of Heroes instead, Final Fantasy are terrible games.

Enjoy time spent with your family and save these memories while you can instead of playing videogames.

To back up what was already said, please don't play VI. Get a refund if you still can, because the mobile version is such garbage that it shouldn't be supported. Emulate it for SNES or GBA (pick your translation) if you want, but please don't play mobile.

IX is great on mobile. If you just want to complete the game without any tedium, the no encounter cheat coupled with the instant ability learning is great for breezing through the game and making grind practically non existent (you'll need to grind a little for levels before bosses, but that's a good trade up from random encounters throughout if you're trying to save time.)

These two games are probably the two best mainline retro FF games. VI has a good story with a decent cast of characters, and IX has a decent story with some of the best characters of any FF game. VI has good gameplay pacing and great narrative for the time it was released, and IX has an abundance of side quests and character specific quests to complete that give the game probably the best ambiance of the entire series.

I'd say VI is probably the best 2D FF, and IX is the best medieval setting FF (it's kind of an ode to the older games.)

Play whichever seems more appealing to you.

>Every FF released on mobile except FFVIII

It was the first FF I ever played so because of nostalgia I can't help but love it despite its flaws.
Honestly suffering.

Seconded. I'm only in my 30s but a significant amount of my family have already passed. All those unresolved issues and missed opportunities that I'll never have again feels bad. Spend time with your family when you can.

Also, FF6 mobile sucks ass.

Depends. Does your car have Wi-Fi?

Because if not you're fucked over with DRM.

Should of got FF IV. Thats the real classic.

FF IV is a proper 3D remake and the best FF next to VI (but VI sucks on mobile).

The car doesn't. But I ended up playing VI and I was fine. I've heard about people not liking the remaster, but with nothing else to compare it to, I didn't have a problem with the art style. I'm having a lot of fun.

The art style looks like a newgrounds game from 2003. Even with nothing to compare it to, it looks like absolute shit.

That's funny because I only had the opportunity to play as many jrpgs as I did because my family never spent time with me or let me go anywhere.
The irony is that one day they'll be confined to bed or chair with nothing but TV, wishing I'd spend time with them.
I'd love nothing more that the opportunity to tell them what they told me, "You'll just have to find ways to entertain yourself."
Nah. I'm not that vindictive. Jrpgs are my life now.

Also, 9 is better than 6. But 9 also made a lot of throwback references to previous games in the series, having a lot of similarities with FF5 in particular.
6 stood more on it's own.

If you've never finished FF6 you don't actually like video games and need to be raped and murdered.

Kill yourself faggot.
