This one's really retarded, but I didn't know who Captain Falcon was because I never played F-Zero. So when I played him in Smash Bros. and I saw both Samus and Capt. had this glow around them when they did their "B" attack, I assumed they were related characters. So I went to a kids house and convinced them they could play Super Metroid in a 2 player mode, with the second character being Capt. Falcon. So I spent hours trying to try in a code on the title screen to unlock 2 player in Super Metroid.

If you mean the timer until it fades, no, it does not. But it's a nice indicator that you've picked up a berserk since you might think it was a medkit otherwise. I think the Doom manual says something about the redness being from the capillaries in your eyes bursting, so that's an amusing lore reason I guess.

I was convinced that Dr. Eggman/Robotnik was called "Dr. Moustache".

Also that Sub-zero was called "The Freezer". I know his name was right there on his lifebar so don't ask about this one, I can't even remember myself.

Also that in the red portal stage (in MK2) you could fight the wizards in the background and go through the portal. Actually there was a kid in my neighborhood who supposedly had done it, he was kind of a legend.

That Castlevania was called "Caster Mania".

In game canon they are the same person. In sonic generations the name change is very briefly discussed in a cutscene.
In comic canon Dr. Robotnik created a robot in his own likeness called Eggman. After Robotnik dies in issue 50, and a few other events, Snivy, Robotnik's assistant, activates Eggman to take Robotnik's place.
