Posted this on /v/ earlier but it didn’t get much traction. I played the mobile version of Redshift’s ‘The Quest’ and really enjoyed it. I’m looking for another similar game to scratch my RPG itch and I’d appreciate it if any suggestions are thrown my way. I do have some preferences:

>Blank slate PC, ideally silent

>No team/party

>Challenging and fair

>Decent writing

>Good soundtrack

>No chinese cartoon artstyle

inb4 get Morrowind; already played through it once, a bit hit-and-miss but was an overall pleasant experience. I’m after recommendations outside of what Bethesda offers. Thanks in advance.

The Quest is mostly based on the Might and Magic games. I recommend 4+5 or 6.
But those have parties so if you really don't want that then I guess try Ultima Underworld maybe?

Have you already played Ultima Underworld and Dungeon Hack?

OP here, not all that familiar with Might & Magic. Which entry would be a good jumping on point?

World of Xeen, start with Might and Magic IV, it's linked with V so you get more content and can play the games in whatever order you choose.

+1 Ultima Underworld

The new one, X, is quite good.

VI Mandate of Heaven is sublime, play it with the mouslook mod.

I would tell you to start with 3 rather than 4 and 5. All three play in a similar fashion and are great.
