retro Nintendo was good, or at least if they were evil they still made some nice games, or at least if you hate their games they still had nice games by third parties on their consoles.

There's really some blatant Nintendo favoritism in /v/'s moderation for quite a while, since most threads that are critical of Nintendo end up in sudden deletion. The fact that they always put out a sticky everytime a new Nintendo Direct video comes out is pretty suspect too.

>>3681650
>retro Nintendo was good, or at least if they were evil they still made some nice games
All multi-million companies are evil to some extent (that's how you get to be a multi-million company in the first place), it's just that Nintendo, much like Disney, manages to hide their evilness with a facade of a family friendly fun thanks to Mario and Pokemon, creating a false impression of being consumer-friendly. Old-school Nintendo pulled some really nasty shit in the past. There's a reason why most third-party companies went to Sega and then PlayStation during fourth and fifth gen.

At least old Nintendo didn't rely on gimmicky input devices to catch your attention. In the worst case, they would just cut a few corners here and there.

Sunset Riders was an outlier though, The Genesis version was less than 4 Megabit, while the Super NES version was around 8 Megabit. It also came out much earlier and was Konami's first game for a Sega system ever alongside Hyperstone Heist. They probably didn't have much confidence or experience when it came to supporting Sega consoles at the time.

Lethal Enforcers 1 was pretty on-part on both consoles. 2 was better on the Genesis due to the Super NES never existing.

SNESfags are tied with Sonyfags as the worst posters on /vr/.

Anyway, Arcade SR > MD SR > SNES SR. There's no reason to play it on SNES since you can easily play the superior arcade version instead now. Unlike MD SR, which has more levels and is harder than both the arcade and Nintendo games. Don't feel too bad though, you Nintencucks at least got the better version of TMNT Tournament Fighters.

I think the SNES version of Sunset Riders is better.

Genesis version has shorter levels, worse music, worse graphics, fewer characters (you can't both pick the same weapon type in coop) and a less interesting bonus game.

It's not different enough from the arcade game to really feel unique, it just feels like a sloppy port. Also, while its definitely more of a challenge, I don't think that makes it a better game necessarily. It's not like the arcade/snes games are easy.

Just my opinion of course.

Getting blown up for accidentally shooting a dynamite stick in the Genesis version was bullshit. I don't think that feature was in the Super NES and Arcade versions.

The grayfics and music are better in the Sega version than SNES. You're right about the co-op problem, someone needs to make a ROM hack that adds in the other dudes. Also you forgot to mention that it's missing bosses on Sega, which is my only pet-peeve I have with the game. Everything else about it is an upgrade.

No, but they are about the same at least.

>Music is better
Found the segababy, every track sounds and feels inferior, genesis in general always sounded just like NES 2.0, very few games (like the Sonic series) sounds really good in this machine, most third party genesis games sounds pretty mediocre compared to third party snes games.

Tired line about what? You mean the Nintendoomed meme? That's not even what the infograph is about, dimwit. Just because I'm skeptical of the Switch myself doesn't mean I think it will put a definite end to Nintendo if it fails. In the worst case scenario they'll just go third-party like Sega.

Besides, Nintendo is like the Apple of gaming hardware manufacturers. They might not bee the juggernaut they were back in the 80's and 90's, but they have enough cultish loyalists who will buy any crap with their logo on it.

Pay attention to SNES. The drums are barely audible and trumpets sound very tinny. MD Sunset's still sounds good but different, while SNES sounds like a poor emulation of the arcade game's music. It's as if the only sample that isn't compressed to hell is the orchestral hits. The Sega version just has way more oomph to it thanks to its superior bassline.

Fake news at it again!

>According to Sega staff involved in its development and marketing, it was the high-speed DMA controller, rather than the CPU clock rate, that the term was actually referring to. According to Sega of America's former technical director Scot Bayless:

>"The PR guys interviewed me about what made the platform interesting from a technical standpoint and somewhere in there I mentioned the fact that you could just "blast data into the DAC's". Well they loved the word 'blast' and the next thing I knew Blast Processing was born.

And yes, the DMA controller in the Genesis is way faster than that in the SNES and it really shows in fast paced scrolling games where the pattern generator and name tables have to be rapidly updated every frame.

I didn't say that, retard. Genesis version is downgraded from the arcade original, that uses FM synth and PCM samples. Granted that the trumpets sound cleaner on the Genesis, but SNES version has actual percussion.

Even the making of video was basically just the devs going "we designed the game as hard and unfair as possible, not to make it fun" and to hammer the fact home that they didn't really expect anyone to beat the game the final fmv is basically a gigantic "FUCK YOU" to everyone who managed to force himself through it.
