It's interesting, but like someone said earlier, it gets repetitive. I went in expecting some sort of unique horror experience because people talked about how scary it was. It's just weird, and mildly creepy at times. The Gray Man might make you jump because he's startling, but that's about it.

Running around funky landscapes doing nothing gets boring after a while.

Well, technically games like this can in fact be lost when they aren't popular enough. I doubt even the most avid video game collectors know much at all about this game. Wouldn't it be a shame to have to add this to a list of other games that are lost? It would be like that list of lost films we'll never see, and only have partial plot details of.

As an adamant appreciator of Video Games I seriously don't think any game no matter how awful should be completely lost and left behind. Even bad games should be kept in record and be playable somehow even if they are bad, even just as an example. So that's why I find it exciting.

So, I took a quick look at this when the following intrigued me:

However, there is a rumour that once the grid has been filled, then a cutscene known as ENDING.EXE will play. As the grid has 309 spaces and the player only has 365 dreams, it is, in practice, impossible to unlock.

Now, after 365 days the chart resets, which would make it statistically impossible to achieve.
That said it is theoretically possible considering there is a 56 day margin of error for this to happen.

My question is is there such an ending in the game's code or is it just an unsubstantiated rumor?

"Sexual: The sexual textures seem to appear only after the evil ones, (although not always, it's possible to start a dream with this texture on) and if this were a man's dream, one could say that it was his freudian inner-beast showing itself. But it's not. Often, mixed in with the evil textures is an 'eyeball motif', and that actually carries into the sexual textures in many places. The entire ground is sometimes covered with eyeballs, and again, if this were a man's dream, those eyes could represent his inner-obsession with sexuality. However, it is assumed that this is a woman's dream, based on the rare booklet that goes with the game and on the dreaming person located inside the Bright Moon Cottage. That person is a woman, and this sexuality is an odd one - gruesome and pervasive. Perhaps she was raped or molested, and she is trying to hide that? Perhaps the evil textures were blocking that out? Maybe she is just simply perverse herself. Many of the textures view hesitant women looking out from the corner of their eyes, and they're certainly all very distorted and hidden.

Along with the sexual textures, there is also another odd texture that's part of the Sexual texture. This texture features many colorful cartoon-like faces, most noticeable in Happy Town, where in fact this texture may be the 'default' texture for Happy Town altogether. It should be noted that this particular set's textures may change 'style' depending on the location. For example, when it appears in Happy Town, the faces appear to be more design-like than actual faces - some barely even seeming to represent them. When it appears in Monument Park seems to be more feminine and human looking, done in a style similar to the LSD mascot, and when it appears on the walls at the Pit & Temple it appears a lot darker and creepier than the other two."

That is fucking horrifying.

The first thing I noticed is that the emulators really miss on some of the graphical elements. Every LP I've seen of this game shows lakes, rivers, lava, etc.. pretty much any liquid with a somewhat painful to look at strobing effect. The game doesn't do that at all. There's a few other graphic/sound differences too.

I'd say the game was definitely worth 600 Jap-monies.

I think I was just forced to commit suicide in the game.

Was playing on day 4 or 5 and found myself in that expansive grassy field with all the rivers and cliffs and was just walking along, and all of a sudden I heard a buzzing noise. I stopped walking and started looking around to see if I was near something making the noise, and all of a sudden my character started walking on his own.

The view tilted a bit and he was walking slightly askew, not quite straight but not quite strafing either, and he continued to do so until he fell off a cliff.

The buzzing got louder and louder until he fell off. The button to look behind me still worked and as best I could tell there wasn't anything pushing me.

I don't know if it was a glitch or what, but it was definitely a fucking nope moment. I was playing on PS3 so I can rule out the idea of it being an emulator fuckup

I was using the default OpenGL plugin for that shot, using these settings, but with "keep psx ratio" turned off (for use with widescreen) and GTE accuracy turned on to reduce polygon jitter. There's videos like that in the game. About 18 or so in total. They happen on occasion, just like the black screens with white text that will happen on occasion.

I have NO idea what triggers this, but after a certain point, three dots on the grid will turn green like in the pic provided. The green dots will blink a few times, and then all the full-motion video cutscenes will start. They will all play, back to back, without you being able to give any input. It will take maybe 10-15 minutes for them all to play.

Now, when this was happening to me I was practically shitting bricks. I've never heard of anyone else describing this and I had never seen this happen on any YouTube playthrough of the game. I have no idea how rare this is or what triggers it. I wasn't keeping track in my screenshots then as to what day certain things happened on, but it was somewhere between days 55 and 100. The next time you look at the chart, the green squares will be gone.

Some times, I'd just like to take a screenshot of my dreams and be able to view it in real life. Because it never seems scary or odd while it's going on; I woke up from a dream less than a hour ago where I was Cheech and I was with Chong, and the world operated on the Champions Online engine, and it devolved in to us having to take down someone really tough because "He's the boss you fight before Hitler" to avenge the death of the one-armed girl from that Violated Heroine that he killed before us. And he killed her as Chong and I were double-teaming her and fucking the shit out of her in the old Flying J truckstop that used to be near my old house when I was a kid.

Informative commentary is good, interesting, mentioning the dream journal or your knowledge or areas or background information.

Not all of your commentary was informative, and this may just be personal preference, but I wouldn't mention not knowing what things are or why they're there as much, or having never seen things before - the viewer doesn't necessarily care about that (saying you've never seen something before once or twice is okay but it seemed like you said that about a lot of things)

Eastern Mind isn't a sequel to LSD in any way at all. It came out in 1995 while LSD was released in 1998.

Google, my friend. I'd recommend playing either on a chipped PS1 or emulating on your PC.

If you're willing to spend $200-$300, go buy the physical game off eBay.

Anyone got a download link for LSD?

Did you played this emulated, or in the PS1/2/3?

or if you have a ps3 you can actually download the game legit from JP PSN for only 600 jap-dollars

It's a slow board. Not every post needs to bump a thread.

The durka caravan was weird... it stayed a constant distance from me. If I ran toward it and it started to get closer, it would actually disappear.

I'm guessing that since you can't reach it and can't touch it and it's camels and whatnot, it's meant to be symbolic of a mirage
