You know, I played this as a child and just recently replayed it. Held up well. Opinion?

>> No.3662180

>>3662171
A lot of people don't share the opinion but I agree, it's good for what it is.

>> No.3662184

It's like DKC but more poorly designed, with good 3D graphics for the time.

>> No.3662186

it's OK. There's better platformers out there.

>> No.3662193

>>3662171
Croc is better.

>> No.3662196

>>3662193
Croc is a platformer with tank controls. Shit was just awful.

>> No.3662197

>Held up well
it didn't, it's like you never played a decent platformer, go play super mario world or something.

>> No.3662204

>>3662196
Only because you Crash babies cant play anything besides games like Crash whose game design is super simple. Shit doesn't need precise controls at all.

>> No.3662205

>>3662197
Super Mario World is mediocre as fuck if you don't try to find every exit. Crash at least offers some challenge in a normal run.

>> No.3662206

>>3662171

The movement physics aren't as interesting or fun as Mario, or even Spyro.

>> No.3662208

>>3662204
Croc has simple game design too so I don't know you what you're talking about. It was just awful if you missed a jump for a gem or something like that and you needed to turn around slowly and adjust your direction exactly to align a jump. Holy shit croc is fucking shit.

>> No.3662213

>>3662208
Try playing a game for more than 5 minutes and you might actually get use to the controls. The 2nd game also improves the controls a lot.

i pretty much rushed straight to the bowser's caste and it was awesome.
>Crash at least offers some challenge in a normal run.
ur kidding right? it's more annoying when you die becouse the game is meh and you just want it to be over asap, but the difficulty is lower/on the same level and the last boss is easy in comparison to Bowser in SMW. When I've beaten Dr Anus or whatever the fuck is his name, i was like "that's it?".
inb4:nintendrone
lol i've never played SMW in childhood but played Crash, if not for nostalgia i wouldn't bother beating it.

>thinks SMW is equal in difficulty as Crash1
This is going beyond bait. Didn't know underage people posted on /vr/.

both are easy to beat, dunno about 100%. why u mad? platformers are baby games i play to chill.

I played it recently and i said gave up and went to play 2 because i was bored.

2 and 3 are superior in every way.
3 would be the perfect game if it didn't have that stupid time trial mode.

Timeless classic.

The gimmick levels are far worse than time trial.

Played it recently for the first time. Results were terrible, but was fun. Never been good with those running games except for Pepsi Man

I think it's the best crash game still. The controls are fine, you all probably just suck. The difficulty is challenging, and never felt cheap in any way for me. The graphics are still great and hold up immensely I think it's one of the best aged early ps1 games.

So... this is the power.... of Generation Z

>> No.3663205

>>3662171
It's ok but it's not a great game. Uninspired levels, mechanically shallow, and not particularly challenging, overall it was pretty bland.

Even something like Pandemonium is better.

It did lay the groundwork for 2 and 3 which are actually good games, so I guess it gets props for that.

sorry, not gonna waste time 100% completing kiddie games(pm any game with saves and unlimited continues).

I have a better question.
Why is he called 'Crash Bandicoot' and not 'Crash the Bandicoot'?

Doesn't every game have unlimited continues?

His last name is Bandicoot.

It's fucking weird, but there are people with the last name "Human" as well.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Human

You wouldn't call him "John the Human", his name's just John Human.

lol wut. play super mario bros or something.

Circle is literally the 'turn around' button. What game did you actually play? Croc doesn't even have tank controls, it's a dualshock game.

Playing through it again. Brilliant but the save system is terrible if you decide not to use save states
