Contra

It's the story of two solider buddies, Lance and Bill, who travel the world and save humanity from the alien force of Red Falcon (portrayed as *pic related*), only with a full body, sits in a chair, and sends his henchmen (all modeled after sanitized Contra bosses) to foil them. Every race is part of some convoluted plot by the villains in which winning means furthering their goals for some reason. If someone looks evil, they're evil, including Mighty Gazelle (everyone knows that robots that look even somewhat threatening are evil). Oh, and Mighty Gazelle is now full robot. Black Shadow and the Black Bull are now Dark Shadow and the Dark Bull. Blood Falcon is now Red Falcon. Same with the Blood Hawk. All the villains work for Dark Shadow. Also, it stars Original the racer. Captain Falcon is Original's mentor, for no good reason other than Original is just that cool. Original's machine looks terrible, too. And every episode has some moral about friendship or teamwork or something that good ol' Captain Falcon is sure to teach everyone. Also Captain Falcon stars in a PSA at the end of the episode (this ends up being the best bit).

Harvest Moon

Instead of being like Tenchi Muyo, love triangle with multiple girls combined with adventure and comedy, we will instead get a straight up romantic comedy show that's bland and is totally super serious instead of being cute and charming about it. All reference to magic will be removed like the goddess and the sprites, because they say it doesn't fit the seriousness of the show's setting.

Eventually, there is an arc where new evidence comes to light and Jack tries to figure out who killed his grandfather. Other stupid serious plot shit like the priest losing faith, Anne getting upset her dad had to put down her pet due to rabies, and just stuff like that.

Characters are changed for sake of conflict rather than all being pretty friendly like they're supposed to (the one exception off hand is Karen's father who warms up to you in time anyway), such as the Mayor will now be a huge douche bag and try to cock block any project that loses him money, and overall has a nasty bitterness toward you because you do more for the town than him.

Damn I'd be mad. I'd explode rage if they messed that up somehow.

Earthbound

Probably something like Adventure Time, with the open acceptance of things that are just...weird. Following the main story, with "fluff" bits in between, a few episodes dedicated to the (mis)adventures of The Runaway Five. I think it'd do well, maybe even following the first seasons completion of the Earthbound story with those of Mother and Earthbound 2. Tone mostly silly adventures, with a more heavy undertone bubbling to the surface now and then.

Probably be an anime, or a "western anime", like Avatar.
