Someone mentioned something about X4 that made me reevaluate the game.

Double is Sigma's agent and also the one sending you to eliminate the members of Repliforce, causing a war between them and the humans and Maverick hunters.

If you look over the hilariously bad voice acting, the story was kind of cool. Too bad the whole plot thread about Wily making Zero and the original Maverick virus never went anywhere interesting. Also the part where it's implied that Zero killed the original Megaman.
