I know about the Odroid, but what are some other board pc's that are worth looking into? Want something a little more powerful then the pi for my needs, but also generally smaller then a traditional computer.

I will of course be emulating on it, so that will the main focus for what I am looking for.

The VIA epia line sounds much like that ... if it's still around.

There's also boards based on the freescale i.mx6 SoC. They don't have much extra CPU power, with just an A9 instead of an A7 or the 64 bit replacement ... the extra capability they do have is GPU related, supposedly able to do desktop openGL, if you're interested in source ports and such.

There are various small form factors for IBM compatible PCs. Most common are Micro ATX and Mini-ITX but there are far smaller ones just the size of a candy bar.
