I would like to see a new Space Harrier in the style of After Burner Climax, with a lock on system like Planet Harriers or Panzer Dragoon.

I also had the idea for a new Fantasy Zone that could use a data card system like Initial D. You could save your gold and buy and unlock secret weapons, new music tracks, special stages, etc.

Daytona 3 will be here this spring. Please be aware that this footage is from a 50% complete prototype. There will be new tracks and content, this is just to show that the driving physics will be solid.

I see AB suggested constantly but what's the reason for this? It has an interesting concept but is poorly executed, and the combat mechanics are extremely simple. I loved the soundtrack and cover art though.

Not him, but I think you just described why a revival of it could be so good. It's a neat concept but a really awful game. That idea executed well would be awesome.

Yeah, most of you guys are forgetting that half of these franchises *did* get mediocre sequels some time in the past ten years.

Altered Beast got PS2 and GBA sequels, there's a reason nobody remembers them. The kindest thing you can do to an old Sega game is let M2 have a go at a port.

Fatal Fury.

The sad part is that if the series is ever revamped, it'll just be MOTW 2, with KOF XIV graphics.
Garou is cool and all, but Garou Densetsu aka Fatal Fury is defined for its plane mechanic.

A newly made 2D Fatal Fury game would be my dream as a fan of SNK.

Exactly. Golden Axe had a 3d game too, so did Nights, Thunder Force, Fighting Vipers, Daytona USA, Hang-On, Sega Rally 2, Toejam & Earl... even Vectorman was meant to get a new game on the PS2, but it was an awful looking third person shooter with Vectorman looking like Master Chief.

They did do good on some sequels (Panzer Dragoon Orta, Rent-a-Hero No. 1, Outrun 2, Afterburner Climax), but those are few and far between.

And nowadays it feels like they are not releasing anything other than Sonic and Yakuza, with the occasional compilation of ports.

Streets of Rage 4 like a super Spike Out
Flicky reiventend for smartphones
Fighting Vipers as a Soul Calibur-tier fightan, a modern Soul Calibur with emphasis on armors
Virtua Fighter 6, now back to the Virtua Fighter 1 blocky models to make the game fresher
Add character creation to Sonic games. Unleash the beast and grab all those furry shekels for minimum effort and maximum profit.

I honestly can't think how OR2006 could be improved upon beyond adding 4k support or some shit. It was astounding for the time and still holds up now (PC port anyhow)

Read up on the development story some time. It was approached in a very innovative way to squeeze the absolute maximum out of contemporary hardware.

Also, wasn't there a 3d Altered Beast reboot some time ago? If memory serves it was pretty terrible, just like the original IMO.
