Why does castlevania has anime style in certain games? Frankly it looks retarded , the best look is the sc4 or cb , hell, even ooe for ds, the games are decent but the style feels forced and it panders to the weebs it's as if the last of us announced a sequel and all the characters were anime

I agree. Anime isn't the best suited artstyle for Castlevania. Pic-related fits a lot better.

It's only logical that a game set in Europe should have western aesthetics.

Right, and everytime someone takes a trip to Japan in an American cartoon, they should change the style to anime as well.

If they're going to Japan, it should look like Japan, yes. Anime is inherently western anyway, as it was copied from Betty Boop and Disney.

What? How moronic are you? Order of Ecclesia has a distinct artstyle that in no way resembles anime. Just fucking look at it.

Just because something came out of Japan doesn't mean it's anime, you dumbfuck. Same thing applies to the original Castlevania.

Only 3 had anime style though, out of like a shitthousand castlevania games.
Rondo had it, but the cutscenes were so deliciously 90's anime that it gets a free pass.
Portrait had it, but it was fitting since the game was a lot more comedic.
In Dawn it looked retarded and it was a horrible decision.

Anime literally means Japanese cartoons, it's not an art style.

>> No.3626912

No, anime is literally short for animation. Anime applies to all animation in Japan.
