I would disagree, because the 32X, besides having a few good exclusives, had the best versions of any multiplatform it got.

I mean, the 32X was still a terrible idea, but the actual games on it aren't bad by any means. You've got the best versions of multiplats (NBA Jam, MK2, Primal Rage, Doom, Virtua Racing Deluxe, etc), some great exclusives (Knuckles Chaotix, Star Wars Arcade, Shadow Squadron, Darxide, Metal Head, Kolibri), and some arade perfect ports (Afterburner, Space Harrier).

It's worth owning nowadays, for sure.

I meant among 16-bit home consoles. The SNES version is worse than the 32X version because the graphics are blockier, and the gameplay is dreadfully slow.

The 32X version has awful music, but at least the gameplay is fast and fun. Just turn the music off and put on some metal or something. It's a better playing version than the SNES one and I'll fight you if you say otherwise. Jaguar version is probably the best home port from that era.

But the SNES Doom is the only 16 bit version of Doom. That's why it has an excuse. The 32x is a 32 bit console. It theoretically should be able to run Doom as well as the Playstation. (I was going to say Saturn but the Saturn port of Doom also sucked).

Honestly, the only game I can really compare it to (off the top of my head) is Hook on SNES and SCD. It has a lush, gorgeous hand painted visual style and typical platforming gameplay.
