Hello guys the amiga is the best gaming machine right?

>> No.3618652

I like it, but mainly for demos honestly. Commodore should have made a standard for controllers with more than one button so more games had support for that.

>> No.3618653

RIP Australia-kun. ;_;

>> No.3618670

The Amiga was a great machine all around, games were just one thing that it could do on top of a bunch of other things. Calling it a gaming machine wouldn't be doing it justice.

Atari did this in the form of allowing Jaguar controllers to be connected, but they were too late. Commodore should have standardized this back when the first Amiga computer was released.

>> No.3618680

A lot of the games had a big coolness factor and some games which were ported elsewere are best to play on the Amiga (Lemmings or Pinball Dreams series come to mind). However, the games had generally a much poorer polish and overall gameplay quality and balance as compared to SNES or even Genesis games - while an average gamer could beat many if not most significant titles for contemporary consoles with enough patience, the overwhelming majority of Amiga games tended to get stupid hard quite soon, so hardly anyone would ever go on to legitely beat them (this also explains the ubiquitous phenomenon of "trainers" added to cracked copies very often).

There's also the "just one button on the joystick" problem which the platform's games (especially action games) suffered from - for instance, Mortal Kombat ports on Amiga are a joke as it seems random whether your character will punch or kick when the fire button is pressed.

It's a long story, but basically guy who used to shitpost in Castlevania threads, always called SCIV shit (Super Castlevania Bros. meme) and saying "New Generations" (Bloodlines for PALfriends) was the best.

He spread to the rest of the board, been behind most PAL shitposts, US bashing, SNES bashing, etc. Despite his name "Australia-kun" and hard Sega stance, he's actually an Amigafag from the UK. His common trademark is posting pics of Tomoko from his phone (image.jpg as the filename) hence the OP, calling everyone "yanks" and referring to his shitposts as "banter." We've all had autism tier arguments at least once with him, deconstructing his """points""" but there's no getting through to him.

I don't think he's related to the "Genesis farts" or /ogg/ guys but I wouldn't be surprised.

It's bizarre there's still people calling it that

>dull

It has a more somber tone than the 8-bit trilogy, but I wouldn't call tracks like Stage 4 or 6 dull, they're still some of my favorites in the whole series. Same goes for Bloodlines' versailles level music.

The first stage levels always get more credit than they deserve.

Wicked Child is better than Vampire Killer
Mad Forest is better than Beginning
In the case of Simon's Theme, it may be true that the first level (and final boss music) is the best in the game, but that doesn't make the other non-remix tracks dull. Library and treasury too, fucking awesome.

Also, while I love Bloodlines' soundtrack, I was never too fond of the boss music, both mid boss and level boss.
