This. I recognize that the PS1 was much better "bang for your buck" so to speak, in terms of third party, variety, affordability and accessibility. That said, my all-time favorite games were on the N64, and especially for the multiplayer experience, it's the system I always gravitate towards.

>>3618226
I want to say this, but damn, Majora's Mask was based. Ocarina is a near-perfect adventure game with practically zero filler and nice casual difficulty level for comfy replay factor. Majora's Mask is a bit harder and a bit more tedious in some of its mechanics, but it certainly makes up for it with its extremely unique concept and atmosphere. I'll say it's a tie for me.

Pic related is pretty high on my list. As much as Smash Bros/Mario Kart/Goldeneye seemed to make up the N64 multiplayer trifecta back in the day, my friends and I played a ton of this. So damn fun.

>Graphics were worse (factually speaking, lower res, lower fps and older tech)
It had far more 60fps games than the N64 and some games even had a high res mode like the 64, toward the end of it's life.
>Far lower specs.
And yet put out more polygons than the competition, despite those specs. Besides, the SNES had shit hardware yet devs squeezed amazing games out of it.
>Loading times sucked.
Aye, 1x CD sucked ass.
>Controller needed to be remade.
Indeed, but that controller became the basis for all modern controllers. Even Nintendo copied the dual analog sticks.
>Niggers could afford it.
>Marketed at niggers.
Non-arguments. And wasn't the N64 $100 cheaper?

I agree with you and what you said also sort of applies for SNES vs Genesis for me. I have probably more nostalgia for Genesis since I could swear I played more Genesis as a kid than SNES. Now that I played a ton of both on emulators I would probably say SNES is better. However today I would definitely be more excited to play SNES now.

I miss when consoles had a lot more uniqueness unlike today where most consoles are pretty much the same with very few worthwhile exclusives. Genesis was so different from SNES. Just like Saturn, N64 and PS1 were so different from each other despite them having some shared games.

I dunno. Probably Majora's Mask.

The game was presented as this kind of Brother's Grimm fairy tale type thing where it's both a children's bedtime story and tale about dying friendships and occasionally dying friends/loved ones.

PC, because I was a graphics whore bacvk in the day but if I had to choose between the three It was N64. It had enough of my favorite games (RE2, Golden eye, Megaman, Zelda, QUAKE, DOOM) and got one for almost free in a bundle of other consoles from a bro.

PSX resolution was a major sticking point for me, I would often get disoriented in GT2 when cresting hills because I couldn't see which way the road went.

This is a tough call. My top 5 would be Parasite Eve, Resident Evil, Fear Effect, Galerians and Metal Gear Solid. Picking one of those is too tough.

I'd probably have to go with Resident Evil based on how many times I used to replay it. Though, I don't really care much for games like that anymore. The more saturn I play, the more I question why anyone gives a shit about Sony or Nintendo's libraries during the 5th gen. Everyone says the PS1 has a massive library, but you never see anyone list anything more than multiplats or JRPGs. The Saturn's library wipes the floor with its best games, and the N64? Apart from a handful of innovative titles, and a handful of rare games, there really wasn't anything worth writing home about.

Cotton 2 Boomerang and Twinkle Star Sprites may be some of the best games of the generation.

The Playstation has a greater selection of third party games and could hold more data therefore providing cheaper games on the market instead of the 50 to 110 dollars for the N64 games.

Nintendo and Sony went for the new gamer market (people that didn't like games before) and geared most games directly to them. Sega continued to cater to the same gamers as before. The influx of hipster nugamers that liked style-over-substance shit that the N64 and PS1 was the beginning of the downfall of gaming.

Without Sony wedging its big floppy, smelly, ugly dick into gaming, Sega would have dominated, Nintendo wouldn't have forced 3d on its titles to compete, and modern gaming wouldn't be shit.
