1. Blazing Lazers
2. Soldier Blade
3. Super Star Soldier

Haven't played the CD ones. R-Type is also a favorite but the PlayStation has the best ports by far in the R-Types collection.

PC Engine has the best retro shmups on any retro system and not a single reply from /VR/.

WTF.

Go and play Blazing Lazers NOW!

Star Parodier was always super fun for me. I'd recommend it for a nice play through.

>Playstation

PCE R-Type has an extra boss, if that floats your boat.

My favorite PCE Shooters are...

>Air Zonk
>Galaga 88
>Soldier Blade
>Mr Heli
>Gate of Thunder

Haven't played many CD shooters, wanna try Forgotten Worlds, Download 2 and Nexzr

Sidearms was basically the first game I owned and played a lot of.

I cannot pick a favorite PCE/TG16 shooting game because I have so few of them. I really wish I had money, both back then and now so I can actually make an informed decision. Of these, Cotton is my kind of game.

One last bump before the PC-Engine shooting games die.

My intention of the image was sort of like a joke in an elephant graveyard sense like "Playstation, where PC-Engine shooting games come to die" or a more positive "Playstation, PC-Engine shooting games Valhalla, they will all meet again someday to destroy them all" ...

I get it now.

Have you played R-type Dimensions?

Which R-types are you favorite and why?

I have it for the 360, and I've been waiting forever for a friend to play it with me so I can experience the original in 2-player simultaneous play.

My favorites are Leo for the Arcade and Delta for the Playstation. The visuals and play of both are pretty great. I feel the R-type games are pretty technical and brutal, probably beyond my skill level, but I still enjoy them a lot.

Never played R-type Leo but my favorites are the original R-type / R-type 2 and R-type Delta.
