Yeah one thing that tripped me up is you have to go back to one of the towns to get the horse & cart before continuing on to the ship, even though it's not explicitly mentioned by the prince.

Dude, are you me? I'm doing the exact same thing and just finished up III and IV a week ago. I enjoyed IV over III, but III probably has more replay value.

Probably going to play the DS version of V, after I finish FFVIII.
