Is there a better series of hunting game than these games? They have:
>fucking dinos
>spooky temples
>alien landscapes
>standalone mods

I find it hard to believe OP didn't discover this genre through modern games but still, check this out

I remember the reviews being consistently scathing.

They looked decent, but the Carnivores series had to have fucked up for not being well received at any point.

I'd be curious to hear more on it though.

Reviewers always have stupid reasons to not like somethings

Playing this was comfy af, also pretty spooky when you went after the big baddies

I loved hunting for just the Rex, C2 has epic scenery.
swamps, deserts, woods, cliffs, secret villages or lone houses, vulcanos, caverns, the ocean.

I wonder if the new one on steam is comfy like that.

IMO this was one of the first shooters that let you walk around a realistic forest. The graphics were also pretty good its time

I don't know man, I used to read this one mag and they were on the money most of the time.

Not saying they're the be-all-end-all but does this series actually deserve any recognition?

I never played this game seriously. I always used the invincibility and hover cheat. I couldn't imagine how hard it'd he to take down a beast legit considering you'd probably just be back pedaling for 45 minutes straight shooting pistol rounds into a t-rex's cranium
