What are some weird obscure PSX games?
Pic related is Jumping Flash, basically a cross between FPS and 3D platformer.

>> No.3559956

Nigga, that was a launch title, it isn't obscure.
It's just nobody knew how to make 3D platformers yet.

Jumping Flash is honestly better than most 3D platformers in general

Jumping Flash is pretty well known, and was a 1st party Sony title (although the developers who did it were Exact, who worked on Sharp X68000 games before that, Geograph Seal is basically a proto-Jumping Flash).

Play the sequel as well, Jumping Flash 2: Big trouble in little muu, it's pretty great.

Try Jinx if you want an actual weird, obscure, 3D platformer on the PS1, you filthy casual.

I like how you actually had to move and think in three demensions. So many 3D games may as well be set on a flat plane, but in JF you need to maneuver over and under some enemies and bosses rather than just around them.

Too bad the pop in was more than my wee little brain could handle back in the day.

Not super obscure but I really enjoy intelligent qube. Typically puzzle games bore me after awhile but I really love intelligent qube and get addicted whenever I play it.

there are a surprising amount of those that are almost entirely unknown though, particularly on the ps2. deka voice and wordimagesoundplay for example are hard to even get isos for.

If someone asked me to describe that game in a few words, it would be "Man suffers the worst day in history".

Sweet. I was given a PSX by a colleague that was just gonna throw it out. I bought a modchip for it (MM3) and installed it this morning, so I'm ready to play some undiscovered le gems.

Until the PS2 was released and Sony started selling the original PlayStation as the PSone, the Playstation was shortened to PSX

Then Sony released the PSX, a PS2 with a DVR, in Japan and it got more confusing

That's why if you google PSX, you get a whole bunch of images of the original PlayStation
