It's okay. The fun dies a bit after the wedding.
Expect an annoying battle system though because you've got 5 party members but can only use 3 in battle and Mario's always gotta be part of that 3

Aw man, you really think so? I thought it only got better after that, it's when the more interesting characters come to play. Also I loved exploring the sunken ship which had a very eerie atmosphere and Monstro Town introduced most of the side quests of the game. If it's about comedy, the Nimbus Land was probably the most hilarious arc after the wedding and the ending had a couple of funny bits too.
