Games that are fucking legends, but relatively not widely known. I want some games to play on NES, SNES, PS1, or SEGA. Syphon Filter 2 is the best game I have ever played in my entire life. Perfect blend of action and stealth. Great story. Great 2 player modes.

Lot of same fag in here. SF died out because the games were bargain bin time wasters that never amounted to anything. When they were forced to make a better looking and running game for newer hardware, those games showed just how junk they were.

lol I'm the guy mentioning a hypothetical MLG scene for syphon filter 2 and most deff not samefagging.

On another note say what you want about it's sequels doesn't take away from the game itself. There are plenty of series that have gone down the drain thanks to sequels

I recall Code Name: Viper being a hot-shit game back in the day, yet nobody talks about it now. I recently got a copy of my own a few months ago and it's indeed great. Just the right amount of challenge, great music, and somewhat unique gameplay that adds a bit of stealth to its action-platforming. I think it might be up your alley, OP.

PC Engine is the only "completed" version that Kojima oversaw so purists say that that is the intended version.

The Sega CD is of interest being the only one with an English localization which is pretty good for that era.

For me though the game worked best on the MSX2 or PC88 despite it's lack of a 3rd Act since the 3rd Act that was made up for the PC Engine release was just like Disc 2 of Xenogears, nothing but rushed exposition scenes

I thought about it for a bit and then decided to go for Brian Lara Cricket (1999) for the PS1/PC. Most people here I'd imagine are Americans who don't know much about cricket, but for those that do I still think this is still the greatest cricket game of all time (not that the competition has been particularly great).

>Top notch (though occasionally glitchy) commentary
>The only game that I feel nailed the ambient sounds and atmosphere of a test match
>Smooth shot animations, batsmen look around the ground and practice their shots in between plays
>Genuinely hard to play in bad weather conditions, pitch visibly changes colour after rain
>Going for big six-hit shots requires precision timing, meaning risk/reward balancing instead of FIFA scoring multiple screamers from 40 yards with ease
>Batsmen more likely to get out in the start of their innings, so more measured play is required in the early stages in order to build up a good score before playing more freely
>Shit tons of game modes
>You can set the computer to play itself and just leave it on in the background
>Loads of glitches, but falls into that bracket of glitchy games where it actually makes the game more interesting rather than game-breaking or annoying

The only parts where it falls over a bit is the bowling, which can get a bit boring, and the fielding which I swear must have only been added in as an afterthought as it is so broken. Only Don Bradman Cricket has come close in almost twenty years.

Amazing game, but hell to play to make it work today.

Really great weird euro sci fi steampunk setting and atmosphere, wish there was a modern version.
